of the terrorist attacks on the united states, the u.s. embassy in cairo released a statement that read, in part, "the embassy condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of muslims. as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions. they released that statement because there was an angry mob gathered outside, and that mob continued to gather as the day wore on. nearly five hours later, the state department confirmed the embassy had suffered a breach. protesters outside the embassy were reportedly there due to anger over a reported low-budget anti-muslim film made in the united states and posted on a youtube account. more on that film in a moment. by late afternoon, the compaemb was reiterating its statement on twitter, one of the tweets read, "of course we condemn breaches of our compound. we're the ones actually living through this." a short time later, the state department confirmed the u.s. diplomatic mission in benghazi, libya, was under attack. searches for the british monitoring group called it a well-planned assault that occurred in tw

that's subject to review by something called the committee on foreign investments in the united states. a big committee that reviews this stuff. the treasury secretary heads it up. when that committee was reviewing this deal with, congress went absolutely nuts over it it. in the end, that deal did not go through. that was in 2005. china was not allowed to come in and buy that company. now they are trying good. they are in the process of trying to buy a canadian oil company. but again, the committee on foreign investments in the u.s. has some jurisdiction here because the canadian company does a lot of business in our gulf of mexico. this is a chinese government-owned giant oil company trying to buy american oil infrastructure. think the deal is going to go through this time? it's a $15 billion oil deal. you think it's going to go through? it didn't in 2005. hount this new version? since the last time the united states said no, cnooc is famous for going into business with iran. they are in the process of developing a huge iranian natural gas field. i know it's china and china doesn't fo

. the infamous birther question. was the president born in the united states? under our constitution he has to be born here to be president. ohio republican primary voters, people who voted already this year, 37% don't think barack obama was born here. just 2 in 5 say the president was american born and, therefore, a legitimate president. when you ask the president's religion, this gets scary. a majority of all voters don't take him at his word. just 49%. this is all voters, say he's a christian, which is what he says he is. and 30% of republicans and 34% of conservative republicans say obama is a muslim. simple as that. now, here's the point, these bad numbers, saying it twice wrong, these 34%, they're twice what they were four years ago. when he came in people took him at face value. this guy is what he says he is. i'm american born, obviously. i got a whole history, it was announced when i was born in honolulu, in all the papers there, and i am what i am, a christian. i go to this church that caused him a lot of trouble. do we remember that? he went to a church, jeremiah wright's church

? that makes sense. one of the least controversial things you could possibly imagine the united states government agreeing to. well, a bill to adjust that payment for the cost of living was brought to the senate floor last thursday. it was expected to go ahead. no muss, no fuss, who's going to argue with that? it was blocked by someone in governor romney's party. an unnamed republican senator has put a hold on the cost of living adjustment to the surviving spouses and children's payment for soldiers killed in the war. the same hold is also affecting the disability payments to soldiers who are wounded in the war. some republican senator is blocking this. we don't know who. governor romney, here's a place to start. you are now the leader of the republican party. i realize you're having a hard time getting the training wheels off when it comes to national security, but here's an easy one. should that senator from your own party lift that hold on the cost of living adjustment to the payments to those people who we sort of owe it to? should a republican senator who's holding this up keep th

to be president of the united states, that would be us, and we are not allowed to have ten years from mitt romney. we are only allowed to see one year of mitt romney's tax returns and a summary of the second year, at least so far. the question of why mr. romney will not release more tax returns has dogged his campaign. over his summer, a laundry list of republicans called on him to release the returns. that followed more republicans who did so during the primaries. harry reid went on a tear loudly and publically accusing mr. romney based on a hearsay source of having paid zero taxes for ten years. mr. romney denies that. he says he's never paid less than 13% in taxes. he does just say that. we're supposed to trust him that that's true. the problem with us just trusting, the problem with us not seeing the evidence of what's in his taxes is that the last time mr. romney asked voters to trust him about what was in his taxes that he didn't want to show, we just had to trust him, was when he told massachusetts voters in 2002 when he was running for governor that he was a massachusetts resident and you
